Gary Alpert, Chief Executive Officer

Gary Alpert is the CEO of WetFeet Inc. and serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. Mr. Alpert helped to launch and manages the WetFeet Recruiter business unit, drives research and development of the recruitment technologies product line, and has been a principal architect of the firm’s award-winning job seeker websites, WetFeet.com and InternshipPrograms.com. Recruiter Magazine has named Mr. Alpert one of the top 100 most influential people in the recruiting industry, and Mr. Alpert’s experience as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur was profiled in the 1998 book, Upstart Start-Ups. He speaks frequently on best practices in corporate recruitment.

Mr. Alpert received an MBA and Certificate in Public Management from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University. In addition to his work with WetFeet, Mr. Alpert is a Board member of the MBA-Nonprofit Connection in Palo Alto, California, which helps to develop job opportunities for individuals with management backgrounds in the nonprofit sector. He is an avid fan of the great outdoors in his home of Marin County, California, where he and his wife are raising their family.

Steve Pollock, President

Steve Pollock is the President of WetFeet Inc., a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, and head of the firm’s recruitment research and consulting practice. Mr. Pollock has been an instrumental contributor to the design and product development roadmap for WetFeet Recruiter by leading the firm’s research into candidate and recruiter experience and online recruitment trends and best practices. He is a recognized expert in the online recruiting field and speaks frequently on corporate best practices in recruitment.

Mr. Pollock is a frequent commentator on recruitment and job market trends in national publications and radio and television programs, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, Forbes, PBS, and CNBC. Prior to founding WetFeet in 1994, Mr. Pollock worked internationally in strategic planning and project finance for Mitsubishi International Corporation and in marketing for the Nature Conservancy of Hawaii.

Mr. Pollock received his MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated with distinction as an Arjay Miller Scholar. He holds a BA in East Asian studies from Harvard College, where he graduated summa cum laude. In addition to his work with WetFeet, Mr. Pollock is a marathon runner and avid urban gardener. He lives in San Mateo, California, with his wife and their children.
